A painting of a telescope on a grassy hill under the Milky Way, with an open star book and a red torch on a camp stool.
From the first section: the quiz asks what paintings like this one bring to mind for you.

Some people wait for the right work to find them. Others go looking. Vocamira is for the days you feel like looking.

The idea underneath

Some choices move you toward what you want. Others move you away from what you fear. Vocamira helps you tell them apart.

Part 2 asks why you make the choices you do. Your results show which choices come from wanting something, and which come from worry.

Attention spent on you, not taken from you.

No feed, no endless scroll. One long, careful look at you. Then your attention goes back to your life, with a few clear ideas to try.

How it works

Two parts, about 35 minutes in all. Your type comes first.

  1. Part 1 · Who you are · about 10 minutes

    Your type

Pick between paintings, choose the activities you enjoy, and answer some quick questions about yourself. At the end you see your type: one of 18, like the Lantern-Keeper, someone who helps people understand hard things so they can find their own way.

You can stop here. Your results are yours either way.

  2. Part 2 · What work fits you · about 25 minutes more

    Your 3 career matches

Questions about what matters to you, what you do well and how you like to work, a few everyday situations, and six short questions to answer in your own words (all optional). Optional puzzles add about 5 minutes. Then you get your top strengths and 3 career matches. Each match says why it fits, shows real jobs to look at, and gives you a small way to try it this month.

These are ideas to try, not a final answer.

  3. Afterwards · if you want them

    Your free results by email

Your type and your 3 career matches, written up for you, with your strengths and a next step for each.

What it measures

Built on research. Extras only if you want them.

Based on research

  • What you enjoy. Six kinds of interest: hands-on work, figuring things out, creating, helping people, leading and persuading and organizing. Based on Holland's interest model, which career counselors have used for many years.
  • How you like to work. The Big Five, the most studied model of personality, with free public questions.
  • What matters to you and what you do well. Your values, your strengths, and what you need around you.
  • Real jobs. Public O*NET® job data, so every career match points to work that exists.

Built on public, peer-reviewed career research (the Big Five and Holland interests) and public O*NET® job data. It's a starting point to explore, not a test with right answers, and it can't tell you your future.

O*NET® data is published free by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (USDOL/ETA). Vocamira has modified all or some of this information. USDOL/ETA has not approved, endorsed, or tested these modifications. O*NET® is a trademark of USDOL/ETA.

Optional extras

  • Astrology (for reflection, not science). Our own take on astrology, based on your birth date.
  • Numerology (for reflection, not science). The old practice of finding meaning in names and dates.

Your faith or beliefs (optional). If you like, your results can speak in your own tradition's words. We ask only with your permission, and we never rank or judge any faith.

Try it: how much should an extra count?

Left out completely. Your results come only from your answers to the main questions.

Each extra is off unless you turn it on, at the end of Part 2. Extras can add color and meaning, but they never add or remove a career match. Astrology can change the order of your 3 matches by one place at most, and we'll tell you if it does.

The 18 types

18 types. Here are six.

Each type is a mix of what you enjoy and how you like to work. No type is better than another. Each one names something you're good at.

And 12 more. You'll find out which one you are in about 10 minutes.

Trust

Your answers, handled with care.

  • We don't sell your data.

Your answers build your type, your career matches and your results. They aren't for sale, to advertisers or anyone else.

  • Written with AI, and we say so.

Code works out your results from your answers, the same way every time. AI writes the words around them, and we always say so.

  • Not therapy.

Vocamira is for reflection. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything. If you're having a hard time, we'll point you to people who can help.

  • Sensitive answers stay sealed.

What you write in your own words, your faith and your birth details are encrypted, and the last two are asked for only with your permission.

  • Honest selling, or none.

No countdown timers, no invented reviews, no pressure. If we ever offer something paid, you'll see the full price and an easy way to say no.

Questions

Before you start.

How long does it take?

About 35 minutes in all. Part 1 takes about 10 minutes and shows your type. Part 2 takes about 25 minutes more and gives you your top strengths and 3 career matches. The puzzles in Part 2 are optional and add about 5 minutes. After your matches, you can go deeper with a few more optional questions. Your answers save as you go, so you can stop and come back later on the same device.

Is it free?

Yes. Both parts, your type, your 3 career matches and your results by email are all free. Later we may offer paid extras, like more detailed results or a step-by-step plan for one career match. They're optional. You never need one to see your results.

Is this a personality test?

Partly. A personality test usually gives you a type. Vocamira also asks what you enjoy, what matters to you and what you do well. Then it looks for work where those meet. Your 3 career matches come from that.

Is it scientific?

Some parts are based on research, and some are just for reflection. We always tell you which is which. The main parts are built on public, peer-reviewed career research (the Big Five and Holland interests) and public O*NET® job data. USDOL/ETA, which publishes that data, has not approved, endorsed, or tested our use of it. We don't call Vocamira “validated”. That word needs proof we don't have yet.

Do I have to believe in astrology?

No. Astrology and numerology are optional extras for reflection, not science. Your faith or beliefs can also be part of your results, but only if you choose. Each one is off unless you turn it on at the end of Part 2, and you choose how much it counts. They're always labeled, and they never add or remove a career match.

Is this therapy?

No. Vocamira is a tool for reflection. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and it isn't a replacement for care from a professional. If something you write suggests you're having a hard time, we'll show you where to find support. We never contact anyone about what you write, unless the law requires it.

What happens to my answers?

We use your answers to work out your type, your career matches and your results. To write your results, we send your answers, including what you write in your own words, to our AI provider, Anthropic. We never sell your data or use it for ads. What you write in your own words, your faith and your birth details are encrypted. We ask for faith and birth details only with your permission. You can download or delete everything on the My data page, and our privacy notice has the details.

Is it written by AI?

Your scores, your type and your career matches are worked out by code, the same way every time. AI writes the words around them, following our written rules for tone and safety. Every report says so.

Who makes Vocamira?

A small independent studio, working with AI tools. Every method and rule is written down before any code is.

Who is it for?

Anyone aged 16 or over who is thinking about what comes next: a first job, a change of career, something to build, or a way to help.

You don't need to have it all figured out to start.

Part 1 takes about 10 minutes. Not now is fine too. It'll be here.
