Your privacy
The short version
- We use your answers to work out your type and your 3 opportunity matches, and to write your results.
- To write your results, we send your answers, including anything you write in your own words, to our AI provider, Anthropic.
- If you ask for your results by email, our email provider, Resend, sends it.
- We never sell your data, and we never use it for ads.
- You can download or delete your data any time on the My data page.
- We don't contact anyone about what you write, unless the law requires it.
Who we are
Vocamira is made by a small independent studio. We decide how your data is used, so under data protection law we are the "controller". To ask us anything about your data, email privacy@vocamira.com.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your age range (from the month and year you were born; we keep only the range) | Vocamira is for people 16 and over, and 16–17-year-olds get extra protections | Legal obligation and legitimate interest (keeping young people safe) |
| Your answers to the questions | To work out your type and your 3 opportunity matches, and to write your results | Your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given on the first screens |
| Anything you write in your own words (always optional) | To write your results, and to check for signs you might need support (see below) | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); for the safety checks, your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) |
| Your faith or beliefs (only if you choose to include them) | To speak in your own tradition's words in your results | Your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)), asked for separately |
| A health or disability limit, if you pick that option | To keep opportunity matches that don't fit it out of your results | Your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)), by choosing that option |
| Your birth date, and if you give them, birth time, place and name (only for astrology or numerology) | To work out the optional extras you turned on | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), asked for separately |
| Your email address (only if you ask for your results by email) | To send you the link to your results, and news only if you tick that box | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| The country your connection comes from, and small cookies that keep your place in the quiz | To show the right help lines and pay figures, and to let you pick up where you left off | Legitimate interest, and what's strictly needed to run the quiz |
What you write in your own words, your faith, a health or disability limit, your birth details and your email address are encrypted when we store them. You can withdraw any consent at any time. That stops future use, but doesn't undo use before you withdrew it.
Safety checks on what you write
When you agree to it, this is what the first screens say:
We read what you write so we can tailor your report. We also check it for signs you might need support, so we can show you help lines. Vocamira does not contact anyone on your behalf, including emergency services, except where the law requires it.
- What we check for. Words that might mean you're having a very hard time, or that someone is hurting you. We look only at what you write in your own words, never at your other answers.
- What happens then. We show you help lines for your country, on screen, and your results may include a short note about support. We never tell you a label, and nothing blocks you from your results.
- What we keep. A small, encrypted record of the check (never a copy of your words), under its own key. Only trained safety reviewers can see it. It is never used for marketing, ads, pricing or analytics, and never to train AI.
- If you say no. You can still write. Help lines still show on screen if something you write suggests you need them, but we keep no record of that check.
We don't contact anyone. Vocamira does not perform welfare checks and does not contact emergency services, police, family members, schools, employers or anyone else about what you write, except where the law requires us to. If you are in danger, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line yourself. We'll always show you how.
How we use AI
Code works out your scores, your type and your opportunity matches, the same way every time. AI writes the words around them, following our written rules. Every report says it was written by AI. The AI provider never gets your email address.
Who helps us
These companies handle data for us, only on our instructions and under a contract that protects it:
- Anthropic (AI provider, United States): gets your answers, including what you write, to write your results. Under its commercial terms, it doesn't use them to train its models.
- Resend (email provider, United States): gets your email address and the email with the link to your results.
- Cloudflare (hosting, database and storage): runs the site and stores your answers and results.
Some of these companies are in the United States. When your data goes there, we use the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contract terms.
What we never do
- Sell your data, or share it with advertisers.
- Use your personality, wellbeing or safety answers to decide what to sell you or what it costs.
- Use what you write to train AI, unless you said yes to research use, and even then never safety records.
- Put your answers, what you write, your birth details or your email in our analytics or in web addresses.
How long we keep things
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| A quiz you never finish | Deleted after 30 days without a visit |
| Your answers, once you finish | Deleted 12 months after your last visit. Your results and report stay until you delete them |
| What a 16–17-year-old writes in their own words | Deleted 30 days after their last visit |
| Safety-check records | The details are deleted 90 days after any review closes (30 days for 16–17). A small record with no details is kept for 2 years |
| Anything from someone under 16 | Deleted within a day, except a safety record we may have to review first (usually within 7 days) |
| Anything you delete on the My data page | Deleted right away, except where the law makes us keep it |
Your rights, and how to use them
You have the right to:
- see the data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- delete it;
- correct it;
- withdraw a consent, or object to how we use your data;
- complain to your data protection authority.
The quickest way: go to the My data page to download or delete your data, with no forms and no need to give a reason. For anything else, email privacy@vocamira.com. We reply within a month.
If you're under 18
- Vocamira is for people 16 and over. If you're under 16, the quiz stops kindly, and we delete what you gave us within a day.
- If you're 16 or 17, you get the free results only. We never send you marketing emails, never ask to use your words for research, and keep what you write for a shorter time.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and ask for your consent again where the law needs it.
